Constant wattage ballast although heavier,
larger and more costly provides numerous advantages over
reactor-ignitor gear. The lamp output power is maintained
at a highly constant state, even over supply fluctuations,
due to the regulation action of the auto-transformer. Hence
the name Constant Wattage (CWA).
